Trigger finger

55 yr female presented with pain and stiffness of left thumb.

Ultrasound findings

• Thickening of A1 pulley of left thumb with maximum thickness of 1.1 mm – feature suggestive of trigger finger.
• Longitudinal view at the level of first metacarpophalangeal joint showing the thickened A1 pulley (arrow).
• No evidence of synovial thickening or effusion.
